Cobalt offers low-cost, rapid-access appointments. Affordable pricing starts at just £366 for a 1-part MRI scan, £492 for a 1-part CT scan, and £1,225 for a PET/CT scan.
We accept referrals from medical practitioners i.e. consultants and GPs, physiotherapists, chiropractors, osteopaths, extended scope practitioners and dentists. Sports massage therapists who wish to refer for MRI must have the appropriate qualifications.
Any patient referral needs to be within Cobalt’s Referrers Scope of Practice.
We provide mobile and relocatable 1.5 and 3.0 Tesla MRI, CT, and PET/CT services for hire throughout the UK. Our fleet of modern, low-dose CT scanners can be equipped with supporting units including reception, waiting and consultation areas.

Our expert caring staff are particularly experienced in helping claustrophobic patients successfully complete their scans. In the unlikely event that the patient is unable to tolerate the scan, no charge will be made.
Cobalt hosts a range of Rapid Access Clinics at Cheltenham Imaging Centre.
These include orthopaedic clinics delivered by consultants specialising in knees, spines, upper limbs and hips along with a neurology clinic and a memory clinic.
Cobalt is currently contributing to 50+ research projects mainly in the fields of cancer and dementia. We also deliver a series of free MSK and oncology education events for medical professionals.
We have a dedicated research group led by Professor Iain Lyburn and a research committee that reviews current projects, and considers innovations and new exciting projects, which are presented to us.
We deliver free education events for medical professionals including MSK and oncology lectures and a full day MSK conference in the summer.
